Earlier This year I began to think more about what I wanted to achieve in my life and what I can do to help our planet. After watching “The Cosmos series written by Carl Sagan. I had so much more respect for the scientists of the past and today understanding more about our planet and the universe we live in. I felt inspired to do more for the Earth. Instead of feeling disillusioned with whats going on with the world, I could now do my part no matter how small to help.

We are living in amazing times too, there are so many amazing people and technologies today that can help us in our lives, more and more people and businesses are really caring about the planet as a whole.

This has lead me to put action into my beliefs on caring for the planet and sharing with you my experiences.

My aim is to learn more about what I can do to make a difference in business environmentally. I decided that I would work towards producing gifts that are made and thought of with nature in mind. I aim to make the shift towards recycling, farmed trees and bio degradable products or anything else that comes to light in the future. Its early days, but its a move in the right direction.

Carl mentioned four clear messages that we all need to think about to help live in Harmony with earth and here they are.
1 Plant Trees
2 Be more efficient with fosle fuels.
3 Research, develop alternative energy.
4 Population curb it, make people aware
.

Symphony of Science -"We are all Connected"
This video is one of my favorites :o)

First I have began by planting trees, as an artist the biggest resource I use is paper, and I have come up with a system I can keep planting trees as time go’s on. So for every painting I have created from the April this year, I will plant one tree.

Thanks to my friends at
incognito I found a great company I could do that with and here is why?

Planting trees is still one of the most effective ways of capturing carbon from the environment provided they are planted in the southern hemisphere (Page 11 ‘
The Ecologist‘ UK edition January 2007); “trees growing in the tropics can have a positive effect upon reducing global temperatures … “. The services and benefits trees provide, for both organisms and humans alike, can be felt at a local and global level. Preserving trees is a step towards addressing many environmental issues. Trees not only stow carbon from the atmosphere, but later release it as oxygen hindering the 18% global carbon emission caused by deforestation. They also help in the prevention of climate change by cleaning the air and removing pollutants such as nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide, ozone, and carbon dioxide. In addition to cleaning the air, they also generate natural resources such as fresh water and fertile soil which could potentially relieve nearly 800 million people who live and work around tropical rainforests from poverty if we were to stop deforestation. One tree trunk alone can hold up to 0.65 tonne of carbon and also provides timber, food and fuel for the local communities. They help prevent floods by catching and displacing storm water and stop desertification, erosion, and mudslides. Trees also supply raw materials for medicine and science and approximately 40% of all biodiversity lives in theses tropical rainforests. One tree grown to maturity will provide a lifetime of oxygen for one human being.
I to decided to plant with
PATT too.

Working with Charity Organizations.

Painting nature gives me the opportunity to work with other charities where by we share information to help share an import message about protecting nature and everything in it. If your a charity and would like to help me create my art I would love to here from you. I would love to place a link here, and run a competition to help create some awareness of your cause.
